week 3 leader charity; support her idea

Hello Dr. Coles and classmates,
Healthcare has changed dramatically over the last 20 years. This change has made the nurse leader role change as well. Communication skills and interpersonal relationships are more important than ever. Conflicts in the workplace can lead to low self-esteem and poor patient outcomes. A leader should commit to the emotional well-being of their team. There are many different modes of conflict resolution. According to Yoder-Wise, there are five modes of conflict resolution: avoiding, accommodating, competing, compromising, and collaborating. When I took the conflict self-assessment, I scored the highest on the accommodating mode. However, this mode is low in assertiveness. The method I most find difficult is the competing mode. This mode is high in assertiveness and low in cooperation. I believe that a particular situation may call for a different conflict resolution. Some cases may call for avoiding conflict while others may call for a more aggressive mode. Conflict in the workplace can lead to low morale, time consumption, and low productivity. Conflict can also foster new ideas and possible improve workplace relationships.
