Trace

Definition of trace

To trace can be defined as to follow or try to determine the progress of something. This can apply when one wants to know the stages through which something passed through until it attained the current position. In the essay ‘The man behind Rosa Parks’ this term applies clearly in this essay for it is trying to dig deep to establish Rosa parks came into existence.

It is established that Rosa Park was a black lady who lived during the segregation era. There happened a time when a Supreme court in the United States ruled that Montgomery’s segregation system was illegal.

Then a bus was evidently seen carrying a black lady who happened to be Rosa Park with a white man seated behind her. Many people knew more about the lady but none knew about the man. This remained so until when the man declared that he was only covering the civil rights movement. (Chriss, 1986)The man stated that the picture was taken in 1956.

Mrs. Park is said to have left her home which was at Cleveland purposely to get the picture. (Brinkley, 2000).This act was to show that segregation against the blacks was over. The aim of this essay was to trace how the famous Rosa Park came in to being.
