Substance Disorders

A child in particular who is subjected to an environment that he or she able to access certain things such as alcohol has a great chance of developing that problem. Genetic is a major contributor of substance disorder whereby the child is likely to get a gene from the family. Substance disorders say for alcohol can be caused by the social and family culture that the child has been brought up. Cultural influence is among the causes that greatly contribute to substance disorders, (Jaffe, 2008).

One of the main effects of substance disorder is that the individual reluctantly refuses to stop using the substance even after a critical condition has affected him or her. There is a tolerance effect whereby an individual craves for the substance. Withdrawal symptoms are highly experienced by the individual when the substance is out of use or the substance is used in minimum quantity. There is the intoxication effect that results when the substance is used for long.

Research on substance disorder effects shows that, an individual who has greatly been affected by substance use is likely to develop legal problems simply because he or she does not meet the required responsibilities that are required to be met. There are so many approaches that can be used to treat individuals who are affected with substance disorders. TRICARE is one of the best treatment disorder methods. It has more than 3 substance benefit treatments which last for a duration of year before the individual finally heals from the problem. Counseling is prevention approach that an individual can be provided before the condition worsens. Behavioral marital therapy is among the best treatment methods that have been justified to provide quality results, (Jaffe, 2008).
