strategic plan presentation- communication

strategic plan presentation- communication

As a heads up, please make sure you start reviewing the assignments for week 8. One of the assignments is to complete a video. When putting that video on YouTube for viewing there are specific things that you will need to do to make sure that I can also review the video to grade your assignment.
Please plan on testing access to that video either with a friend, family member or myself prior to submitting it for grading. As this a week 8 assignment, if I cannot view the video, there will be little time to work through any issues.
If you want to test it with me prior to submitting then you can send me the link to the video via the individual forum and I will confirm that I can view it. You will need to allow enough lead time however for me to see your message and test it so please do not wait until the last day of week 8 to do this.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Details:

Effective oral communication is essential in the business setting, especially when it comes to achieving buy-in for significant, complex, or costly change. To practice your oral communication skills, create a 5-7 minute oral presentation of your strategic plan for your manager or director or other essential stakeholders whose approval you would require. Be sure to address the \”why\” and \”how\” for your strategic plan in the presentation, providing all the necessary details your audience needs to make an informed decision. Record yourself presenting the plan using YouTube or any other video site that allows you to post your video. Adhere to the following:
1. Be sure to demonstrate appropriate and meaningful professionalism for the intended audience which include proper pace, tone, inflection, pronunciation, and meaningful gestures that convey clarity.
2. Be sure the audio included in the video is clear and free of technological glitches that diminish the audio quality.
3. Be sure the visual appearance of the video is free of technological glitches that diminish the visual quality.
Please refer to the \”How to Share a Private YouTube Video\” if you are concerned with privacy issues.
APA format is not required, but solid academic writing is expected.
This assignment uses a rubric. Please review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the expectations for successful completion.
You are not required to submit this assignment to Turnitin.

Below is a response to questions on this assignment from our Professor.

Presentation question

Cheryl,
I will try and address each of your questions.
1. It cannot just be a PowerPoint with the student\’s voice narrating. Each student must appear in the video giving the presentation. There are some tools that will allow you to both video tape your self giving the presentation and sharing your presentation at the same time. If you want to do that that is fine. But you can also just video yourself giving an oral presentation and not using any slides.
2. The video can be uploaded to YouTube or another type of cloud sharing application. You will need to provide a link to that video in a word document and submit that because the videos will be too large to submit as the assignment. You will need to make sure that I can access the video from whatever cloud platform you chose to host it on.
3. Yes it could be done using an iPhone video.
4. Yes you could video yourself giving the presentation and drawing/writing on a dry board if you wish.
5. Yes the presentation is a cumulation of everything that you have been working on since week 4 however you don\’t necessarily have to present all of the information in the video since the video is only supposed to be 5 to 7 minutes. Per the assignment directions – \”Be sure to address the \”why\” and \”how\” for your strategic plan in the presentation, providing all the necessary details your audience needs to make an informed decision.\”
Hope that helps. Please let me know if you have additional questions
