The opening paragraph of your paper requirements are provide on other optional templates. The purpose statement requirements are provided on previous optional templates.
Significance of the Topic
****HINT: Topic is to be sent to the week 5 group project submission site in the classroom, obtain approval, and then you need to refine your topic so it is very specific. When the topic is specific there is less writing and the group can stay focused. Based on literature what is the relevance of and concepts of interprofessional leadership. Make sure to stay focused on the topic and write out a problem statement. I would highly recommend, after getting an approval for the topic, writing a problem statement prior to anything else. Remember a problem statement is to answer the following and every Graduate level paper needs a problem statement:
Who – Who does the problem affect? Specific groups, organizations, customers, etc.
What – What are the boundaries of the problem, e.g. organizational, work flow, geographic, customer, segments, etc. – What is the issue? – What is the impact of the issue? – What impact is the issue causing? – What will happen when it is fixed? – What would happen if we didn’t solve the problem?
When – When does the issue occur? – When does it need to be fixed?
Where – Where is the issue occurring? Only in certain locations, processes, products, etc.
Why – Why is it important that we fix the problem? – What impact does it have on the business or customer? – What impact does it have on all stakeholders, e.g. employees, suppliers, customers, shareholders, etc. Each of the answers will help to zero in on the specific issue(s) and frame the Issue Statement. Your problem statement should be solveable. That is, it should take a reasonable amount of time to formulate, try and deploy a potential solution.
Remember you must have research to validate the information in this section including why this is a problem.
Literature Review
Introductory sentence. HINT: The introductory paragraph should include what search engines were used to find the literature. Search terms used initially and then revised search terms. How many returns initially and how you decided on the five current and credible literature reviews you are completing. Remember this section is formatted differently than the rest of the paper. There are five reviews that are to be conducted from studies that are qualitative, quantitative and are current – less than five years old. I would recommend this section be completed after the problem statement is identified and is concise. When you do that everyone can use the literature for their sections. Remember this review should include current best practices, positive or negative impact on leadership or health care organization, etc.
****HINT this goes first and is maintained on the left margin. Copy of the reference from the reference page and place here. Remember when this is documented here you are not to use the references or quotes in the review.
The review of the literature starts here. It is one short paragraph and only includes 1. The type of study, 2. The population or sample, 3. Why the study was done, and 4. The outcome of the study. HINT: Remember you have already identified the authors, so you do not need to identify any authors in this review. Also, you do not need any quotes – you only need the four required items.

Summary of all five studies including pros, cons, etc. You are to validate the information with references in this short paragraph. ****HINT this is a very important part of the paper. You need to compare and contrast all five articles. For example: Four of the five studies were qualitative and agreed that ….(citation, year; citation, year; citation, year; citation, year). The one study by (authors) disagreed that….. (year). Continue this with the information found in the studies. Whoever completes this section will need all five studies for comparing and contrasting.
Application to Nursing
This section needs an introductory paragraph. Then you are to identify implications and consequences for nursing leaders with regards to your topic. Remember to validate the information with references. HINT – Remember this is about nursing leaders, not physicians, other nurses, etc.
Conclusion
Your conclusion/summary is your chance to have the last word on the subject. The summary allows you to have the final say on the issues you have raised in your paper, to synthesize your thoughts, to demonstrate the importance of your ideas, and to propel your reader to a new view of the subject. It is also your opportunity to make a good final impression and to end on a positive note. Your summary can go beyond the confines of the assignment. This section pushes beyond the boundaries of the prompt and allows you to consider broader issues, make new connections, and elaborate on the significance of your findings. You should make your readers glad they read your paper, and gives your reader something to take away that will help them see things differently or appreciate your topic in personally relevant ways. It can suggest broader implications that will not only interest your reader, but also enrich your reader’s life in some way. It is your gift to the reader.
