Evidence based practice is the conscientious use of current best evidence in making decisions about patient care (Sackett, Straus et al 2000). It is a problem solving approach to clinical practice and administrative issues that integrates a systematic search for and critical appraisal of the most relevant evidence to answer a burning clinical question, patient preferences and values (Melnyk & Fineout-Overholt, 2014). Evidence base practice process is a method that allows the nurse to assess research, clinical guidelines, and other information resources based on high quality findings and apply the results to practice. Now Nursing goal has remained unchanged, namely to provide a safe and caring environment that promotes patient health and well being. Nightingale use advocacy early and often in the development of modern nursing. Nightingale valued human rights and developed leadership principles and practices that provide useful advocacy techniques for nurses practicing in the 21st century.
