Health Care Law Associations

Health care law associations are organization that brings members together to deal with one or more aspects of health care laws. Among issues dealt by these associations include conducting health care law education, conducting healthcare law and policy research, providing health care law guidance to members, counseling and representation (Optics.net, 2010).

The associations may also be formed to advocate for their member rights. A good example of health care law association is The American Health Lawyers Association (AHLA). Established in 1997, it is a non partisan educational organization that deals with legal issues in health care (American Health Lawyers Association, 2010).

Its members are mainly health lawyers and the association serves to provide a forum for interaction that will lead to sharing of knowledge. It addresses legal issue faced by members who practice health laws and who represent the entire health care industry. The mission of the American Health Lawyers association is to “lead health care law to excellence through education, information and dialogue”. Other major Health care law associations in the country include; Public Health Law association, American Bar Association, American Nurses Association, Center for Health Care Rights and Center for Health Care law among others (Optic.net, 2010).

These organizations are a potential resource as they will provide a network through which critical health law issues can be solved. They also provide a platform for interaction which is major contributor to learning. In addition the organizations form umbrella bodies through which rights of individuals can be protected. Therefore if you are a major player in the healthcare law system it is prudent for you to join the most suitable association so as to enjoy the benefits that accrue.
