support the argument

Greetings classmates and Dr. Coles,
We have all heard that saying “glass ceiling” referring to barriers against women and minorities in management professions. I work with a male nurse who recently told me he could do
anything in the company because he was a man. Could this be true? According to Grossman and Valiga, in 2010 widespread discrimination is evident (pg. 151). There are stereotypes
when you are growing up. Girls are expected to be nurturers and it is okay for them to cry. Boys are supposed to be strong, showing little emotion. As we grow up, this becomes the
norm for our leadership skills. Women are less likely to rate themselves as highly effective leaders compared to men, whereas men highly self-rate their own leadership skills.
(\"Leadership Differences Between Men and Women,\" 2017). “Research on male and female nurses suggests that male nurses tend to move up the career ladder faster than female
nurses” (Hilton, 2015). To enhance effectiveness, we must learn to understand the different styles of leadership that men and women possess. We must learn to communicate and
embrace our differences.
